A Judgment-Free Restart™

Our new morning-after pill, Restart™, is finally here. Available without a prescription, Restart™ helps prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex.

Everyone deserves access to emergency contraception

At Stix, we believe every person should have the ability to make decisions about their own body. With reproductive rights lost for millions across the country, we’re on a mission to make emergency contraception more accessible, convenient, and free of judgment.

To address inequities in reproductive care, we’ve provided over 8,000 free doses of Restart™, our morning-after pill. Powered by the Restart™ Donation Bank, anyone who otherwise wouldn’t have access can get essential reproductive health care when it’s needed most.

Here’s what you can do:

1. Buy Restart™ for use now or to save for later.

2. Sign up to request a free dose of Restart™ if the cost is not in your budget.

3. Donate to the Restart™ Donation Bank to provide emergency contraception to someone in need.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Restart™?

Restart™ is an emergency contraceptive pill (also known as the morning-after pill) that can reduce your chances of getting pregnant after unprotected sex. If taken within 72 hours, Restart™ can significantly reduce your risk of pregnancy. Restart™ is a safe and easy way to prevent pregnancy without a prescription or having to go to the drugstore. You can use Restart™ whenever you need it without impacting your ability to get pregnant in the future.

  • How do I sign up to get a free dose of Restart™?

We believe that everyone should have access to reproductive care, no matter their financial circumstances. If access is compromised where you live or the retail cost of Restart™ is out of reach for you, you can join the waitlist to request a dose of Restart™ free of charge here. Made possible by the Restart™ Donation Bank, Stix has already provided over 8,000 free doses of our emergency contraception at no cost.

  • How is Restart™ shipped?

  • How fast can I get it Restart™?

With multiple delivery options, including same-day or overnight shipping in select cities, you can get Restart™ when you need it — whether it’s for immediate use or to save for later. When you order 2 doses of Restart™, get free overnight shipping on us! If you have more questions about shipping, check out our Help Center.

  • Is there a weight limit for Restart™?

The TL;DR is that it’s inconclusive, but if you weigh over 165 lbs we recommend speaking with your primary care provider. Here’s what we know:

The FDA states that there are no concerns that would prevent someone from using levonorgestrel emergency contraceptives safely — regardless of how much they weigh. When emergency contraception is taken within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex or birth control failure, it can significantly decrease your chances of pregnancy by nearly 90%. However, there are some studies that suggest efficacy may decrease as body weight and BMI increase. If you weigh over 165 lbs or have a BMI over 25, the morning-after pill available without a prescription may not be as effective, and you may want to consider the prescription morning-after pill, ella®, or the copper IUD. If you have concerns about whether Restart™ is right for you, reach out to your primary care provider. While everyone — at any weight — should be able to use the morning-after pill and trust that it will work effectively, we know that this is not the reality. As a team, we’re committed to advocating for accessible emergency contraception for all and will work to offer better options to our customers as they become available. We urge the FDA to approve a higher dose of emergency contraception that is effective for all bodies, regardless of size.

  • Are there any side effects when taking Restart™?

Side effects may include changes in your period flow (heavier or lighter bleeding) or timing (your next period may be early or late), nausea, lower stomach pain, tiredness, headache, dizziness, and breast tenderness.
