FAQs

HOW DO I USE A STIX OVULATION TEST?

  1. Think of your usual cycle length, AKA the number of days from the first day of your last period to the first day of your next period (period tracking apps are a great way to get this info). Based on this number, refer to the chart in the instructions to determine your best day to test.  For example, if the first day of your last period was the 1st and your cycle is usually 28 days long, you should start testing on the 12th.

  2. When it’s time to test (we recommend mid-day), remove the purple cap, and pee on the absorbent strip of paper for 10 seconds. Make sure the strip is pointing downwards!

  3. Lay the test down on a flat surface with the results window facing up. Wait for ten minutes. Breathe, then read the results. Do not read the results after 20 minutes have passed

  4. Negative: If only the control line appears or the test line is lighter than the control line, the test result is negative. This means  that no LH surge is detected and you are not ovulating in the next 24-48 hours.
Positive: If both the test line and control line are visible and the test line is the same color or darker than the control line, the test result is positive. This means ovulation will likely happen in the next 24-48 hours
Invalid: If there is no distinct pink-purple colored line visible in either the TEST area and CONTROL area the test is invalid. We recommend retaking the test.

HOW ACCURATE ARE STIX OVULATION TESTS?

Stix ovulation tests are over 99% accurate with FDA-cleared, OBGYN-approved technology.

WHAT DOES "DISCREETLY DELIVERED" MEAN?

We believe in privacy above all else. Your Stix tests are delivered in a plain envelope, with no reference to Stix or ovulation tests (not even on the return address). The envelope is small enough to fit into a mail slot, so no signature is required. Once you check out, you’ll receive an order confirmation, tracking information, and delivery updates.

WHAT DO THE TESTS DETECT?

Ovulation tests predict when you are ovulating — AKA when your ovaries release an egg and you’re most likely to get pregnant. This test measures for high levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) in your pee. LH is a hormone that surges 24-48 hours before you ovulate. You’re the most fertile on the day of the LH surge and the day after.

WHEN DO I TEST FOR OVULATION?

Before we get into the nitty gritty, everyone has a different ovulation window, and your test will come with clear, easy-to-understand instructions that lay testing dates out for you. Think of your usual cycle length, AKA the number of days from the first day of your last period to the first day of your next period (period tracking apps are a great way to get this info). Based on this number, refer to the chart in your instruction packet to determine your best day to test. For example, if the first day of your last period was  the 1st  and your cycle is usually 28 days long, you should start testing on the 12th.
