Frequently Asked Questions

Ovulation tests predict when you are ovulating — AKA  when you're most fertile, or when your ovaries release an egg and you’re most likely to get pregnant. This test measures for high levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) in your pee. LH is a hormone that surges 24-48 hours before you ovulate. You’re the most fertile on the day of the LH surge and the day after.

Stix ovulation tests are over 99% accurate with FDA-cleared, OBGYN-approved technology.

  1. Think of your usual cycle length, AKA the number of days from the first day of your last period to the first day of your next period (period tracking apps are a great way to get this info).
  2. Based on this number, refer to the chart in the instructions to determine your best day to test. For example, if the first day of your last period was the 1st and your cycle is usually 28 days long, you should start testing on the 12th. Check out this article for more info!
  3. When it's time to test (we recommend sometime between 10am- 8pm), remove the green cap, and pee on the absorbent strip of paper for 5 seconds. Make sure the strip is pointing downwards!
Everyone has a different ovulation window and your test will come with clear, easy-to-understand instructions that lay out testing dates out for you. Think of your usual cycle length, AKA the number of days from the first day of your last period to the first day of your next period (period tracking apps are a great way to get this info).

Based on this number, refer to the chart in your instruction packet to determine your best day to test. For example, if the first day of your last period was the 1st and your cycle is usually 28 days long, you should start testing on the 12th.

Check out this article for more info! It’s best to test between 10am-8pm. If you can, try not to drink too much liquid or pee for a few hours before testing, as either will dilute the test results.
