December is statistically proven as the most popular time that Americans get pregnant. September 9th is the most popular birthday in the US, followed by September 19th. Another explanation for the popularity of September birthdays is elective births and induction. Many people who have the option to choose when they give birth avoid holidays because  hospitals tend to be understaffed around the busiest holiday seasons. This explains why the least common birth dates are Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Years Day.

The dates of conception for the nine out of ten top birthdays that fall in September are between December 17th and December 28th. It’s hard to determine exactly which day of conception is the most popular, as babies are not always conceived the day that you have sex. In fact, sperm can live in your fallopian tubes for up to 5 days while waiting for you to ovulate. While the zodiac signs associated with September are Libra and Virgo, these signs don’t take the cake for the most popular. 9.6% of the US population are Scorpios. Those born between October 22nd and November 21st are Scorpios, the most common zodiac sign. Next are Virgos at 9.4% of the population, followed by Geminis at 9.3%. The least common horoscope sign is Aquarius, accounting for 6.3% of the US population and falling on birth dates between January 19th and February 19th.
